What is the temperature range of the working environment of the SU series standard cylinder?
The SU series standard cylinder is designed with full consideration of the general environmental requirements of industrial applications. The recommended operating temperature range under the standard configuration is usually between **-20℃ and +80℃**. This wide temperature adaptability ensures that the SU series standard cylinder can operate stably in most conventional industrial scenarios, whether it is a relatively mild environment in the workshop or an automated production line with a certain temperature difference. In low temperature areas, such as close to -20℃, the SU series standard cylinder relies on specially formulated low-temperature grease to maintain the smooth sliding of internal moving parts (such as piston rods, pistons and guide rings) to prevent the action hysteresis or increased sealing resistance caused by the hardening of ordinary grease.
When the ambient temperature approaches or reaches the upper limit of 80℃, the heat resistance of the seals inside the cylinder, especially the key piston rod seals and piston seals, is crucial. Standard nitrile rubber (NBR) seals may accelerate aging, hardening or even cracking at this high temperature, affecting the sealing effect and service life. Therefore, when the SU series standard cylinder works in a continuous high temperature environment, special attention should be paid to the state of the seals or high-temperature seals should be considered.
It is worth noting that factors that affect temperature performance in actual applications also include cylinder installation method, movement speed (high-speed friction heat generation), load conditions, and whether there is heat radiation generated by other heat sources around (such as furnaces, motors). If the application environment is expected to exceed this standard range for a long time and stably, such as long-term operation in a cold storage at -30°C or near an oven over 100°C, it is strongly recommended to choose a derivative model of the SU series standard cylinder. These models usually use low-temperature resistant fluororubber (FKM) or silicone rubber seals, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) wear rings, and special high-temperature or low-temperature greases to achieve a wider operating temperature range (such as -40°C to +150°C, please refer to the technical parameters of the corresponding special model for details). Therefore, when selecting the SU series standard cylinder, be sure to evaluate it in combination with the actual extreme temperature of the equipment deployment location to ensure that it can work reliably throughout its life cycle.
