SMC Type AC FRL Unit Notice:
Check Flow Direction: Please verify the airflow direction before installation! There are flow direction marks (Arrows or IN/OUT) on the top of the valve body. Strictly follow these indicators for installation. Installing in reverse will cause malfunction or leakage.
Regular Maintenance: Check the water level in the bowl regularly and drain it if using a manual drain type. Refill the lubricator oil when low (ISO VG32 Turbine Oil is recommended).

Installation steps for the SMC Type AC FRL Unit:
First, install the joints with wrapped PTFE tape and the pressure gauge
2. Follow the arrow direction: the left side is the air intake, and the right side is the air outlet
3. Connect the air tubes to the respective fittings at both ends
4. Lift the pressure adjustment nut upward and rotate it to regulate the pressure; turning clockwise increases air flow, while turning counterclockwise decreases air flow
5. Adjust to the desired air pressure, then press the adjusting nut downward to lock the air
6. If fuel is needed, loosen the screw on the oiler
7. Pour pneumatic maintenance oil or turbine oil into the oil inlet (ensure the pneumatic oil does not exceed the oil level line indicated on the cup)
8. After filling the pneumatic oil, tighten the nut with an Allen wrench
9. Adjust the oil supply by rotation: clockwise increases the oil flow, counterclockwise decreases it

Manual Drain
Water accumulated in the filter bowl is discharged by manually rotating or pressing the drain valve at regular intervals. Whether the drainage is complete depends entirely on manual operation.
Simple systems or applications with infrequent drainage requirements.

Differential Pressure Drain
Uses the pressure difference before and after the filter. When condensate accumulation increases and the pressure differential reaches a preset value, the drain opens automatically. It closes again once the pressure differential returns to normal. Operates only when there is air pressure and flow.
Environments with stable air supply and simple operating conditions, where manual operation is not convenient.
No power supply required. Automatic drainage, more reliable than manual draining.
Requires stable air pressure. Drainage performance is limited during long shutdowns or when there is no pressure differential.
